SUMMARY:Lifeguard Training
DESCRIPTION:1.~Full Blended Lifeguard Class: June 5th and 6th 8:30 am – 6:30 pm (2 days)\n\nfee is $250 for members\, $300 for non members. Fee does not include the cost of textbook\, which is available free online in PDF form. The hardcopy can be purchased separately if desired.\n*You must be 15 years old on or before the final session of this course\n\n\nBasic Requirements for enrolling in the Lifeguard Class:\n\na. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may\nswim using front crawl\, breastroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not\nallowed. Swim goggles may be used.\nb. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.\nc. Complete a timed event within 1 minute\, 40 seconds.\n-starting in the water\, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not\nallowed\n-surface dive\, feet first or head first\, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object\, return to the\nsurface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the startingpoint with both hands holding the object\nand keeping the face at or near the surface so they can get a breath. Candidates should not swim the\ndistance underwater.
