Board of Governors – The Wedgewood Club

The Wedgewood Club was founded as a member-owned, volunteer run swim and tennis club. This model defined by the Club By-Laws, includes a Board of Governors and club committees comprised of club members that organize and help run and maintain the club and all activities.

Volunteers are always welcome
Each member family is expected to serve on a board or committee at some point during their tenure as a club member

Members on the Board of Governors generally serve a two year term in the positions. Some of the board positions also have a committee that go along with them to help with the department (such as the pool committee and the social committee).

The Board of Governors and club committees are defined by the Club by-laws and are filled by volunteer members. These dedicated volunteers serve a two-year term, renewable after one year.

President/Vice President

The President and Vice President positions are usually filled from among current members of the Board.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the collections, custody and disbursement of Club funds. This individual maintains complete balance detail of receipts, disbursements, expenses, outstanding obligations and accounts receivable, as well as state and federal filings.

Recording Secretary

The Recording Secretary records the minutes of the monthly Board meetings and General Membership meetings. This person is custodian of all Club records other than financial and member data.

Corresponding Secretary

The Corresponding Secretary helps with Club correspondence and communications, including membership and meeting notifications, Club-related updates, and the Wedgewood Weekly.
