Tennis Lesson Cancellation Policy
Wedgewood makes every attempt to hold lessons as scheduled. If the tennis courts are deemed unplayable due to inclement weather conditions, lessons will be canceled. Please understand that if the courts are wet, even slightly, they are not safe for children to play on and can damage the tennis balls and equipment. Occasionally, the coaches may still hold lessons but move to the back field to work on footwork and other skills on the grass.
If lessons are canceled, notifications will be posted no later than 15 minutes before the start of each lesson on the club’s Twitter feed @Wedgewoodclub which also streams on the Front Page of the Wedgewood Website.
*General communication about lessons will be done via Constant Contact. Make sure you have subscribed to the Tennis Lessons email list.
How are weather-related closures communicated?
Twitter.
Time-sensitive closures (usually weather-related) are posted by WW Staff on the Club’s Twitter account @WedgewoodClub
Members do NOT need a Twitter account as the Twitter feed appears on the home page of this website.
Pools: The pools are closed during electrical storms. At the first sound of thunder, Lifeguards will instruct the swimmers to leave the pool. The decision to close the pools is made by the Club Manager for the safety of Members and Staff. Typically swimmers are allowed back in the pool after one-half hour with no thunder/lightning.
Tennis Courts/Lessons: After it rains, the courts need warmth and some sun to dry appropriately for safe play as well as to protect the tennis ball and equipment. While Staff do their best to post in a timely fashion, there are times when Lessons will be canceled last minute due to unpredictable weather and we appreciate your understanding when this occurs. Please be assured we strive our best to keep last-minute cancellations to a minimum.

Emails are sent through Constant Contact when there is important info for our members that isn’t time-sensitive.
Facebook is used primarily for the more “social” aspects of the Club and reminds members about activities and events. (Occasionally time-sensitive updates are posted on Facebook if a volunteer is available to post.)
As always, The Wedgewood Weekly email is the best place to look for all Club related info! Make sure you are signed up for Club emails by checking our Newsletter page.
